What in the world?

Today I put Mac down for his nap and he decided that he didn't want it to be nap time. He played and hollered in his crib for a bit. I checked on him and then jumped in the shower. Michael was working from home for the day. He came upstairs a few minutes later and said Mac was screaming and was going to check on him. I told him I had just checked on him, but to go ahead. Well, I'm glad he did. He yelled for me to "Get out of the shower!" I ran into Mac's bedroom and he was lying on his back in his crib with his knee stuck between the crib slats and just screaming. We couldn't get it to budge, until we lubed his knee and the crib slats up with baby lotion and freed him. We couldn't figure out how he did that. His poor little knee has two big red marks on either side of it which are turning into bruises.

The story continues, and the mystery is solved. Tonight he had to go into "time out" for hitting Aunt Kelsey. At the end of his time out (which takes place in his crib), he had his knee stuck AGAIN! We figured out that he is trying to climb out of his crib by standing on the bumper, he pushes his knee forward and it gets stuck between two slats. Needless to say, we immediately took the bumper off. Hopefully we will not have anymore "getting stuck" episodes.
