Good News and Bad News
Well, the good news is that someone decided to rent our house and they move in June 1, which we are SO thankful for. The bad news is that Lily has cancer and it's only a matter of time before it gets her. We are very, very, very sad at our house. We found a lump in her throat, took her to the vet the next day, they did a needle biopsy (it was inconclusive), the following week we had a surgical biopsy done. The crazy dog proceeded to scratch her stitches out not once, but twice, hence the lovely pink E-collar. They had no other colors in her size, so it's a good thing she's a girl. We had to wait 10 days for the biopsy results, which were what we expected but hoped it wouldn't be.
Here is Mac showing sympathy for Lily with his own pink E-collar on. (This one's for you Aunt Natalie and Uncle Steven!)

So sweet - We LOVE the pink collar picture. Hilarious! Mac was a good sport! We are so, so sad about Lily's diagnosis. I hope she has no pain. She is such a good big sister. I'm sorry I'll miss the big party this weekend - I have a wedding to attend in Rome. Can't wait to see ya'll this summer. Let's get out our calendars soon.
PS - praise the Lord for the house renters!
That breaks my heart. She's your first baby!
Lauren, I am so sorry. When I see pictures of her, I think about the Halloween party you guys had at your house. The one where you guys dressed as Dr. Suess characters... she was thing 2 (I think). Great memories. Glad your house has rented YEAH!!! If you guys ever get this way, I would love to meet Gavin. Maybe one day this summer we could all get together for lunch or something.
We're so sorry to hear about Lily. When we lost Maggie there was a poem we read about the Rainbow Bridge and how a beloved pet will wait there for the most important person in her life - Lily will most definitely wait for Mac! She's in our thoughts though and hopes that time will be farther down the road than you fear.
I'm so sorry to hear that about Lily, Lauren!
