Macisms and Gavinisms

I can't believe there are now going to be "Gavinisms!" My baby is a toddler. Anyway, here you go and enjoy.

Macism:
  • We been working on opposites. I said "hot" and when he doesn't know the answer he says "not" infront of the word, so he said, "not hot." Then I said, "What's the word for 'not hot'?" His response was "un-hot."
  • I'm not allowed to call Mac "sweetie" anymore. When did he go from 4 years old to 12? I also can't kiss him in the drop off car line for school. He can kiss my cheek and we can hug, but no kisses. The only time he lets me kiss his cheek is before bed.
  • We were out to eat the other night and he had put a lot of ham on his plate. I told him since he took it all he had to eat it all. He promised he would. After he ate it all he said, "Mommy, I kept my promise, just like God keeps his promise." (We'd been talking about God's promise with the rainbow.)

Gavinism:

  • We've been singing a song and here are the lyrics: Life without Jesus is like a donut, because there's a hole in the middle of your heart. I would sing it for him and then leave out a word to see if he knew it. He said "Jesus"and "donut" when I left those out, but when I left out heart, his response was "bum bum." I really laughed at that one!
