This past Friday, Mac didn't have school so Michael took the day off work. We woke at our usual early morning time, 7 AM, loaded up and headed out. We stopped at a great 50 year old breakfast spot and had big yummy breakfasts (poor G had to eat a poptart as breakfast is the hardest meal with his allergies, but he didn't complain).

He we are loading up at our hiking spot.

Posing for a shot on the trail.

The boys loved all of the big bolders.

Mac called this the "octupus spider." It was the base of a fallen tree and it's roots.

Gavin being a monkey from a fallen branch.
The boys did GREAT and we had a really good time. We decided to blaze our own trail once we saw the "Trail Ends Here" sign. I know there were several times that Michael and I were both thinking, "What have we gotten ourselves into?!" Mac was a climbing fool. He said he was "Frogman" and he had sticky pads on his fingers and bottoms of his shoes so he could climb good and not slip. On the way back down he slid down a few rocks on his bum and later told us that was his favorite part. We enjoyed our morning!
