Update on G

Gavin had a second endoscopy on Thursday, November 4th. We got the results the following Thursday and they were 85 eos/high power field. The first scope was 50. I was devastated. We had taken 14 foods out of his diet, medicating him for seasonal allergies and we no longer have our dog. Why on earth were the results worse??!!!!!

We put him on another "new" diet that Friday, November 12th. Here is what he was allowed to eat: rice, rice chex, rice crispies, puffed rice, asparagus, beets, lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, canned fruit, chicken, lamb, olive oil, salt, sugar, honey.

He would NOT eat asapargus, beets, or lettuce and we didn't try lamb. He was NOT happy with us the 2nd and 3rd days of this diet, but then he just ate fruit and sweet potatoes. We were to do this diet for 1-2 weeks to clean out his system. He and we only lasted 1 week. Meal times have NOT been fun at our house for the past week, more like torture for all of us on many levels.

Now we are able to introduce single ingredient foods, one every 2-4 days and I'm keeping a detailed journal of all of this. Today we started with peanut butter. Michael and I decided that we needed to get some protein in him since he refused to eat chicken after the first 2 days of the diet. He was soooo excited this morning to eat the pb! Now we are praying that he doesn't react to it.
