Haiti

For those of you who didn't know, Michael has been in Haiti all week on a mission trip with our church. He left last Friday night, was supposed to arrive in Haiti on Saturday evening, they missed their flight out of Miami and arrived Sunday morning. They will return home Saturday night. They are doing a medical clinic, construction at an orphanage, and construction at the camp site they are staying at. Michael is on the construction team. He was able to call Wednesday morning to let us know he was doing well, just hot and tired. They are digging a ditch with picks and shovels. Who would have thought that you could take a backhoe for granted?! We greatly anticipate his arrival home. I think both Mac and I have hit the breaking point and are sooooo ready for him to be home. I can't wait to hear all of the stories and see pictures.

Papa and Gaga (my parents) came for a visit to help me out with Michael being gone. Papa came for the weekend and Gaga left Thursday morning. What fun we had while they were here! Mac was ALL ABOUT his Papa and would not let anyone else do anything for him, except Papa. You would have thought Papa hung the moon. It was too sweet. While they were here, we got the nursery painted! I also got some other errands/tasks accomplished that were much easier to do without having to drag a toddler around with me. Gaga and I took Mac back to the "jumpy things" place and Mac did so much better this time (in other words, he did NOT tackle any other children this time). We also went to the park, they baked cookies, Gaga gave him new dinosaurs, and we just had a great time! Thanks so much to Papa, Gaga, and Aunt Kelsey for all their hard work and help!
