Lack of Naps

For those of you with kids that aren't napping, we are right there with you. I've lost track of how long it has even been going on (over a month), but Mac doesn't consistently nap anymore. He'll take one for a day or two, but then will go 4-5 days without one. We no longer call it "nap time," but now we refer to it as, "quiet time." There are two rules: 1. He has to stay in the bed or Mommy will, "spank my bum bum" and 2. He has to be quiet (meaning no yelling, screaming, crying) or "no TV rest of the day." He stays in there for about 1 1/2 hours. This has been working for us, thankfully, especially with me needing some rest time due to fatigue from pregnancy and chasing a 2 1/2 year old. Somehow we have instilled the fear of the spank in him and he stays in his bed. Some days I think this is the only thing we have done right with him. :)

I do not ever want to think about Madison not taking a nap. I want her to take a nap every afternoon until she's 12.

I hear ya Lauren! We have rest time now, where it is actually Jayce's time of day he is allowed to watch tv, as this is the only thing which will keep him still for that long, other than being strapped to a bed, which won't really work... he watches sesame street and I have some time to hear myself think for a bit... whatever works to give us a little sanity, right? I KNOW you need your rest now more than ever, I am praying for you!
