Gavin's Baptism

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, we had Gavin baptised. The way it is done at our church is really neat and special. The parents write a blessing to the child, the child is baptised and then the congregation sings "Jesus Loves Me." Michael wrote the blessing and he did a great job and I wanted to share it with you.
Gavin,
Your mother and I recognize that you are a gift from God given to us to raise to glorify Him. These scriptural passages have been and will be our hope and prayer for you throughout your journey in life. They say more than we ever could.
Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."
Psalm 100 "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
Hebrews 12:1-3 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Return to these passages often as they will provide great strength and wisdom. We love you and look forward to the blessing of the Godly man you will become.
Love,
Dad and Mom
