Gavin had a GI study done this morning. We have been treating him for reflux, but the medicine doesn't seem to be working, so we decided to have a GI study done. Trying to withhold food and liquids from an almost 2 year old until after the study (11:00 AM) was not an easy task, but thankfully we were successful. One lady held his legs, I held his arms while singing and talking to him, and another lady held his head and used a syringe to force the strawberry flavored barium into him. The doctor reported that everything looked "normal" which was good to hear, but still no clear answers for Gavin's several times a week vomits.
Wait, it gets even better. I ask Gavin what he would like to eat for lunch and he tells me pizza. So that is where we go. Luckily we went to a quiet little pizza joint around the corner from our house. (Mac is at a friend's house.) He has scarfed down a slice of cheese pizza all the while enjoying our time together, playing, pretending to be a puppy. The next thing I know, without any warning, he starts vomiting and throws up all the pizza he has just eaten. I guess he was just showing me what he thought about having to have the GI study.

Hi Lauren,
How are you? I just read your blog, you've done a great job with your blog! Hope you all are doing well. Have you had Gavin tested for allergies or any type of food allergies?
Margaret
Man! I hate that you still have no answers. Is it definitely not a Gluten Intolerance? I hope you find some answers soon! We will continue to pray!
