Gavin's Endoscopy

Got the call today from the GI office with the biopsy results. He had 50 e0's/high power field. You want zero eo's and anything great than 20 then you get the confirmed diagnosis of EE. He has an appointment with his allergist on Friday where further food elimination will be discussed. The Ped. GI possibly wants him on an elemental diet. I had to ask what that was...a formula only diet. WHAT!!!!!!!! He's 2 years old and doesn't have reason in his young brain. The nurse's response was, "Well, at least he's not 6." That didn't make me feel any better. I looked up the formula online and it's $139 for 4 - 100 oz. cans! Needless to say, the cost will not be an issue because it would be for the best, but no solid foods, we are going to need some serious prayer if that's the case. To top it off, our follow-up appointment with the Ped. GI is not until November 3rd. I'm doing my best to stay positive and up beat throughout this whole process as I know things could certainly be worse.
